Just like our physical health, our mental health plays a crucial role in shaping our overall well-being. It impacts our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, influencing how we navigate life's challenges and opportunities. Yet, mental health issues are often misunderstood, stigmatized, and left untreated.
At Marquette-Alger RESA, we believe in the power of prevention and early intervention when it comes to mental health. Our evidence-based programs, include Youth Mental Health First Aid, Teen Mental Health First Aid, and Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) trainings.
- Youth Mental Health First Aid - Training for adults who support, work and live with youth. Adults learn how to support youth who may be experiencing a mental health challenge or crisis.
- Teen Mental Health First Aid - Teaches teens in grades 10th-12th (15-18 years old) how to identify, understand and respond to signs of a mental health challenge among a peer or friend.
- Question Persuade and Refer (QPR) Gatekeeper Training - A 1 to 1.5 hour training that teaches three simple steps to help prevent suicide. (14 years and older)
