Focus: To empower district-level educators, through collaboration, to enhance the social studies-based learning experience of all students within the schools of Marquette-Alger RESA.

Curriculum Committees
These committees are unique as they incorporate a partnership between all 13 local school districts, Marquette-Alger RESA, and Northern Michigan University (NMU).
Dr. Derek Anderson (NMU) and Dr. Travis Smith (Marquette-Alger RESA) co-facilitate the Social Studies Curriculum Committee.
Dr. Kristen White (NMU), Chandra Ziegler (Marquette-Alger RESA), and Colleen Sundholm (Marquette-Alger RESA) co-facilitate the Literacy Curriculum Committee.
Focus
Curriculum Review - Engage in curriculum mapping, review assessments and instructional practices, and identify key standards, gaps, and overlaps.
Curriculum Resources - Improve efficiencies through common language and shared forms. Improve Marquette-Alger RESA PD offerings accordingly.
Curriculum Evaluation Process - Create/improve LEA curriculum review processes by developing a standard model.
Meetings and Membership
The committees generally meet four or more times throughout the school year at Marquette-Alger RESA. Substitute teacher costs are eligible for reimbursement.
