Medicaid
In 1993, Michigan's Medicaid Program added the SBS component to reimburse for some health services provided by school districts. Medicaid determined that only ISD-level districts will be allowed to enroll as Medicaid providers for this program.
Medicaid reimburses these providers for some health care services provided to individuals who are enrolled in Medicaid and who are eligible for special education or other programs like Early On. The services reimbursed are those provided during the school day by qualified personnel as set forth in the student's IEP or IFSP.
MARESA currently uses Ed Plan (suite of programs) from PCG for its Medicaid billing and consulting, as well as for its web-based IEP system.
